The Life of the Color Wheel

Primary Colors - Red, Yellow, Blue
they simply are what they are

Secondary colors - Orange, Green, Purple
made by mixing two primary colors

Tertiary Colors
mixing a primary color and a secondary color together

Learning the color wheel gives one an understanding of balance.
I've read many books over the years.
I have found that the following website for Gentleman's Magazine gives all the information for learning about color. Beneficial to all, from Primary colors all the way to moods, feelings, hues. Anyone could utilize this information that they provide. I find no need to write on the topic when this website covers it all with perfection.
Education and understanding of COLOR

The eco world uses the terms Recycle and Upcycle.
New words and terms for a Climate Awareness but,
the elder women used these ideas for many years during economic poor times.
Quilters or the making of Rag Rugs were re-use of items in a new way.

The Recycle School Project Mobile

In the mid '90s I was an instructor for a junior art guild in my local community.
I volunteered to also assist with an art project at the local elementary school.
With the help of some of the senior art guild members, the project was about Color.
The age group chosen was the fourth graders.
We set containers at each class for the students to gather objects from home to use.

If you want to try this project, then allow all types of objects from gathered from home including scrap material, crayons, pipe cleaners, spools of thread, spools without thread, etc. After about two days, assign & sort the objects by Primary - Secondary - Tertiary Colors.
Then continue to have the children bring in more objects.

The Art Guild provided glue, paints, brushes, paper plates, (basic objects) and adult assistance to the children. The children could think about the objects and were given time to sketch their ideas or write them done, when that was easier. They brought their imagination, and creative thinking skills. When they needed help making those thoughts take form, we were there to assist them in making a design come to life.

A day was chosen just for the assembly day.
The student's individaul art pieces were then assembled by color onto a large mobile
that was created just for them.

The whole collaboration was on display in the school's library.
These young learners individual creativity became an Installation.

Collaboration - Installation
In the process of working together to create this color mobile, the experience of collaborating on one single product outcome, one might refer to under business terms,
as learning Product Management.

Art in Education has many benefits.
